Miss Catherine Tool, teacher of
science at the Firth school, who has
been visiting during the holidays at
the home of her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. A. J. Tool, returned this morn
ing to take up her work at the school.
During the past week, Mr. and
Mrs. O. J. Pothast have been spend
ing the time at the home of the par
ents of Mrs. Pothast, while Mr. E. L.
Pothdst ar:'. wife were visiting here

bank.
While taking a lot of the young
people a rjeigh ride last Monday,
Johnnie Fvhale had the misfortune
to have the sled overturn, dumping
the kidlets in a snow bank. No one
was hurt, and ail seemed to tnjoy
the spill.
Walter IL Frost, the lumber mer
chant of Manley, was a visitor in
Murdock last Friday evening, com
ing over to return with Mrs. Frost
and their daughter, Uomona. who
had been visiting in Lincoln for a
couple of days.
People make mistakes sometimes,
and nre honest in the matter at that.

ent farmers near Murdock purchased
a tuie bull for the heading of his
hc;;rd. and after keeping the animal
for some time concluded to kill it for
beef.
Miss Margaret Tool, who is at
tending school at Lincoln, and who

Gave Sleigh Party.
"Bud" and Margaret Amgwert
last Thursday gave a very enjoyable
party to a number of their young
friends in and near Murdock. Only
one-half of the story would be told
to say they had a most excellent
time, for this was a hillarious party
in which all had a very fine time.
With the merry jingling of the sleigh
bells and the joyous laughter which
fated over the evening air, the story
of the pleasant evening was told.

ity as a forceful lecturer. Mr. Ixsng.
who has been in the lecture fie!'! for
sarme time, covers his subject with
forceful illustrations and has a hap
py faculty of telling the apt truth
in the bent manner. IP's lectures
touch life's problems with a helping
hand. This is one cf the bc-st num

arrived and the workmen will begin

Will Take Treatment.
Arthur Peters, who lias been at
tending school at Columbia. Mo., for
.'.ire time past, and who has been
feeling very poorly on account of
leakage cf the heart, departed for
Hioux City, where lie will take treat
ment in a hospital for some time,
hoping that he may receive benefit
therefrom. His mother. Mrs. J. W.
Peter", and sister. Miss Mary, accom
panied him as far as Omaha last
Thursday.
