were received into the church, mak
ing 2 1 new members that have been
received since January first.
We shall give opportunity each
Sunday for those who desire to take
their stand with us. People are not
sneering at the church so much
these lays. and they will do it less
as the church reaches out into the
omnuinity with a spirit of service
uid real helpfulness.
We are all looking forward to the
"Alvo Community Day" on Febru-
iry 20th. Let us all join in making
it a real success. It is ours, and
community pride ought to stimulate
very one of us to do our part to
make that jlay what it ought to be.

MURRAY YOUNG MAN VERY SICK
From Wednesday's Dally.
The many friends throughout the
county of Dick Pitman, one of the
young farmers of near Murray, will
regret to learn that ho is still in very
serious condition as the result of a
severe case of the flu. Mr. Pitman
has been suffering with this malady
for the past week and ror a few days
showed marked improvement and was
able to sit up a portion of the time
but last evening was taTcen much
worse and his condition today is very
serious and has caused considerable
apprehension to the members of the
family. The friends will anxiously
await word from his bedside trusting
that he may soon be able to rally
from his illness.
SECURER MARRIAGE LICENSE

to Mr. Maxwell Vallery and Miss
Louise Scheisel. residing west of the
city, to be joined in wedlock. The
young people will be married tomor-
