place, where he will make his fu
ture home. We did not learn' jiut

future, hut hope that he will find a
place near Murray, that wiil make
his home for the future. We do not
like to lose such men as Mr. Good
from our midst.
Lee Farris has sure heen having
his snare of hard luck during: the
past week. L:i-t week we made
mention of him falling from a load
of bundles of grain and lreakinu his
collar hone. Later lie was taken to
Omaha to have the fracture reduced,
and returning home he was a-few
days later riding in an auto, and in
some manner he struck the injured
member and rehroke the collar
hone. He was taken to Omaha again
on Tuesday for treatment and the
hroken hones reset. He is getting
along very nicely at this time, hut
wiil no doubt lie disabled for sev
eral weeks.

RETURNS FROM
SFECIAL SESSION
Ik-n. Robert H. Windham, repre
sentative from Cass county in the
legislature, returned home to this
city Saturday evening following the
elo-e of the special session of the
legislature that was called by Gov
ernor McKelvie to pass on the wo
man suffrage anivndment to the con
stitution. The amendment was rati
fied at the session Saturday and
adjournment of the lawmakers fol
lowed Saturday afternoon. Mr.
Windham states that he dues not
know what action will he taken by
the Mate to handle the high cost of
living which at present is the thief
matter of interest to the residents
of the state, but thinks that the leg
islature will probably be called up
on to formulate some way of getting
at the food profiteers who are lioost
ing the price of the necessities of
life.
Merchants Need A Few Evenings.
We. the undersigned business men
of Murray, have decided to close
our stores three evenings out of the
week at six o'clock. The closing
nights will he Monday. Wednesday
and Friday evenings, and will re
main open the other three evenings
of each week as long as our patrons
desire, allowing them ample time
totransact all their husinccs. The
hours will prevail during the month
of July an d August. commencing
with July 1st.

where she has been for the past ten
mouths engaged in hospital work
with the A. E. F.. beiug a part -)f
the time stationed at the base hos
pital at Savanay. a short distance
from St. Nazai re. France. This is
one of the most important hospitals
maintained in France and the sple: -did
work of the force of surgeon -and
nurses made possible the recov
ery of a great many of those who
were very severely wounded at the.

Sheridan is completed when she is

the last remaining vacancy in the
teaching force of the local schools
by the selection of Miss Edith
Bonge. who will have charge of the
Mercerville school for the forthcom
ing term. The board feels very
fortunate in securing such a well
qualified teacher and is now ready
for the opening of the fall term of
school in September.

Hirz in the south portion of the
city was gladdened yesterday when
there arrived to make her home
with them, a fine little daughter.
The little miss is the object of much
admiration from the delighted rela
tives and the friends of the parents
