Johnson the wind-jammer and fun maker, who was the clown at the game a week ago yesterday and who promised to bring a team from St. Joseph which would trim the Red Sox 'just about right' accord ing to what he said, did not ma terialize and a gpnie was arranged between the Brown's Tennessee Rats and the Red Sox, the game be ing called a little late, with another line-up in the visitors, which seem ed with the exception of the pitch er n little better than the one of the week before. In the case of the Red Sox. Madden of Omaha was fe- cured for ttio pitcher and was getting nowhere when the panic looked like breaking to pieces on the rock. htimpson who was doing excellent work on 1st bne was placed in the box with all the bases filled and three balls to tli credit of the striker. It did not look very good we can nssure yru but felt that Stiinpson could j:ill tiicm out or tlio diaiema u auyene could and he did. With the v i 1 1 ors it only required tvr innings to convince that aggregation that their first sIecton was not wise and call ed Dent from fecnnd base, after there had been accredited to the homo team seven run;:, thev oniv making two more in the seven in nmns which were rTaved after wards. 1 no opening U tho game was marked by J-nt getting to third base, while Little followed close and was on second when their side went out. With us Peal after having two strikes, one foul and three halls got a swipe at the pill, making hit and landed anfelv on first. Chris tie was given a walk and. Grado- ville got a good single and the bases were filled. Herold was giv en a walk and Ueal walked in home. Madden after having gotten one foul slammed the ball down in Gradoville came home while Herold landed on third. Poisall was walk ed and Stimpson got a good bang at the tphere and Poisall went to third, while Stimpwn landed safely on first and later stole second Poisall was caught off third and went out. while McCarthy and Grassman both grounded and the inning was over with five runs to the Red Sox's credit, and it looked like a runawav came. In the sec ond inning they added two more and in the seventh and eighth one each, making the tally nine for the game. With the visitors they picked up one run in the second, third and fourth .and again one in the ninth. making them four. In the fifth in nlng with Madden who was pilch ing for the Red Sox it looked like a catastrophe was about to happen with Li ttio on third. Carson out T. Iiell on second and Gibbs on first and Marshall ft the bat. no strikes and three balls. Herold the manager who was verv uneasy held the ball and called Stimnson from 1 ' Jilllliniw iJ ' ' )Ct'I iS3t ilti ti.-lS V JI JiiOrUrSSl tffil&t t M-i 3'. i Tii; "M 111 II' l!l ill SynPli IALK about smokes, Prince Albert is geared to a ioyhandout standard that just lavishes smokehappinrss on every man game enough to make a bee line for a tidy red tin and a jimmy pipe old or new !
