Dear Home Folks:
I will write you a few lines in
answer to your letter which Jim
wrote and I received today and sure
was glad to hear from you. It is
the first letter I have got from you
for a long time. Well how is every
body up there by this time. What
is Jim going to do up at Alliance
or does he know vet. Tell him if
he thinks that, it is fine to be in
tne armv that if I ever have to go
to the armv again, he can have my
chance at it. It would not be .so
bad if we were in the good old IT.
S. A. but take it over here in this
frog country, it is not very nice if
we were moving around, it' would
not be so had at that, but when you
stav in a one lnrse town for about
2 or .'I months it sure gets on your
nerves. We have been here in this
little town ever since the Uh of
December and there is not a thing to
co to either. I am going to try and
M 1 Paris before I came back if
cot a chance. We have plenty to
eat and a good nlace to sleep, so
that makes it better too. We may
get a chance to see Germany yet.
which I hope we will. If we have to
stav over here verv much longer. I
am cooking now. We have 2 cook
on one dav and 2 on the next so
you see I uon t have to worn only
everv other dav. so that is not so
very bad. We are going to have a
big inspection tomorrow and I hope
it is an oversea inspection. There
has been two of the lvoys from our
company that 'got their discharges
and have gone on their way back
home now. One of them left today.
If you or father was sick you could
put in for me a discharge and say
that you need .me at home and I
think I could get one. but you
would have to put it through from
that side. How is grandma gettine
along. Have you saw any cf Tu

any of them for quite a while. I
