on the bridge. Mr. Vlois is a son-in-law
of A. S. Henett and wife of
this city, and Mrs. Vlois. is making
her home here just now. They will
make this their home in the future.

but as I have been down at Ashevillc,
X. C, the last week, I did not got to
write. The wounded men are com
ing in rapidly and we are working
in the hospitals here. I worked one
night from 7 p. m. to 7 a. m. and at
10:00 a. id. left on a hospital train
with men that had been gassed, tak
ing them to a hospital in tiie moun
tains, near Asheville. which is in the
heart of the Ulue Itidge mountains
in North Carolina.
It was a rice trip, but it was
work all the way r-o not much time
to look at the scenery. We got back
Monday and I have been working in
a contagious ward since. However
I don't think there will be any
chance of getting away for a few
months. I am in fine health and
hope you are the same, also Pad and
-i.Mer. Mu-t get to work now so
will clo.-e with more later.

formerly with the Nebraska Lighting
Company and was an excellent elec
trical engineer, returning he is bet
ter fitted for his work than before.

Yesterday Pavid Hankinion. who
has ben at a hospital at Omaha, for
some time past on account of,a Mas
toid tumor, forming in his head f n n
th Influenza, it was nacessary to
perform the second operation for his
relief. One was removed from the
base of the brain, cn the left side
about a week ago. and Sunday ar
operation was performed for the re
moval of one on the right side.
The lad is considered as being
very sick, and it is hoped that he
will soon be better.

who has lived in Plattsmouth. Mrs.
Xemetz who lived in this city for

the Catholic cemetery west of Hk
