They were greeted at the station at the arrival by a cablegram from across the waters telling of the ar rival of Mr. llastain in France, he having arrived there today. Mrs. Asnew and her daughter are enjoy ing excellent health, and have been enjoying their stay in the east, but there was something which seemed pretty home like for them when thev arrived. THINKS CAMP DODGE IS GREAT PLACE From Thursday's Daily. S. I,. Cottier returned this morn ing from a visit of some three or four days at Camp Dodge, Iowa, where lie was the guest of his brothtr Howard who went with the contingent from this state, and who formerly lived at Hlue Hill. Lee re ports Camp Dodge as a lively place with 75.000 people there, and com ing and going all the time. He tells of 12.000 having left yesterday for the east, and S.000 the day before, and the boys going as fast as equip ment can be had for their transpor tation. COVERS COUNTY IN 7 HOURS. DEPARTED YESTERDAY MORNING FOR WEST Kioir Thursday's Daily. C. A. Marshall jr.. (June) who with his parents went to Omaha Tuesday to complete his enlistment, as a member of the navy. He pass ed the physical examination in ex cellent condition, and was selected as the one to take charge of a crew of eleven who departed yesterday morning for Mare Island, California, where they enter the service. The crew departed at one twenty yester day morning, and will be about three and a half days on the road. ilRS. HENRY LONG NOT FEELING WELL From Friday's Daily. Mrs. Henry C. I-jng of Murray, who had the misfortune to run a nail in her foot last spring, is still hav ing trouble with the injury and has caused her health to not be as strong as formerly. It is hoped she will soon be in better health. Mr. Long who has been in the west the great er portion of the late summer har vesting his wheat crop, returned a few days since, and was a visitor in this city today. He will return to the west again tomorrow to com plete the plowing of his land tor seeding this fall. He had 285 acres of wheat in last year, and is now preparing to seed the same ground this year. S'.iarpe, regarding an invention which Mr. Kahler has patented. which does awav with the dead center m a crank stroke of an engine, and which is a thing that has caused much concern to those who have applied engine or crank power to machines, by the requiring of a balance or fly wheel. D 191S: A JOINT RESOLUTION to amnd Section one (1 cf Article seven (7) of tho Constitution of the State of Nebraska. Be it Resolved by the Legislature of the State of Nebraska: Section 1. That Section One of Ar ticle Seven of th3 Constitution of the State of Nebraska be and the same hereby is amended by striking out the following words: "Second. Persons of foreign birth who shall have declared their inten tion to become citizens comformably to the laws of the United States, on the subject of naturalization, at least thirty days prior to an election." And inserting in the place of the words so strickon, the following words: "Second. Tersons of foreign birth who shall have become citizens of the United States by naturalization or otherwise conformably to the laws of the United States at least thirty days prior to an election. 1 Sec. 2. That at the general elec-i tion nineteen hundred and eighteen1 (191S) there shall be submitted to the' electors of the state for their approval! or rejection tho foregoing proposed! amendment to the constitution relat-j Ing to the right of suffrage.
