discovered by secret service agents
ia New York warhonses will be pvt
on the American market, unlets the
forign owners can show that they
are entitled to the products and thu.t
no embargo against their exportation
is in effect.
The food administration has open
ed negotiations by cable with the
foreign owners in the hope of ob
taining their permission for the pur
chase of the foodstuffs, but other
action will be taken unless the per
mission is forthcoming.
Officials were interested today in
the fact that the foodstuffs include
more than 2,000,000 bushels of oats
consigned to Dutch importers. It was
pointed out that Holland is not ordi
narily a user of oats, but Germany
has been short of oats for her cav

agents in New York were said to be
only a part cf -an investigation
throughout, the United States to dis
cover if large quantities of food
stuffs are being held in storage.
