The public who are users of elec
tric current in their places of busi
ness and houses were greatly incon
venienced Saturday night -when the
electric current was cut off shortly
after 1 o'clock and remained olf un
til late yesterday afternoon, when it
was once more pfaced in service. One
of the larire transformers at the
n v.ver house in this city was burned
out during the evening, causing the
delay and putting the lights out of
commission all over the city and just
at a time when thev were needed the
most. This is the second time in two
weeks that the current has been shut
o:i" owing to the transformers and
it is very annoying to the patrons of
th-..' comrr.nv, ar.d especially to the
business men, as both times the mis
hap has occurred on Saturday even-
bar, when the shoppers are busy in
trading, and it certainly was most
inconvenient and made necessary the
use of candles or lamps" to illuminate
the stores that were not provided j u Jn this citv an,j lo witness trie

Last Thursday evening during the
heavy shower of rain and the elec

killed. John Parriott who lives on

were in the head at work when tac

started for the house. Mr. Parriott
was driving a four horse team of
mules, lie was going up along a
wire fence when there was a sud

of the mules were knocked down, on
ly one of thorn surviving the shock,
the other two being killed. Mr. Par

During this particular storm of
