AMELIA SAGE DUKE AT OMAHA ignt ana day Villa, according to tin? latest reports received from field headquarters at Colonia Dublan. Little information concerning the pursuit filtered over the border today and nothing definite was received from an ofiicial source. There were persistent reports, however, that the forces of Colonel Dodd had captured the man who was once the "Robin Hood" of Mexico, but because of the difficulty in communication, have been unable to make a report. Bide in a Storm. Late reports from the camp of Gen eral Pershing at the front stated that the track of a vehicle believed to be the carriage carrying Villa had been discovered. Other advices said the American j cavalrymen were riding through the : mountains in the teeth of a heavy gale which now mingled with snow and drizzling rain, cut through the army blouses and sweater into the very vi tals of the men. but that not a single man had indicated a desire to give up he search. Army men here were considerably disturbed by numerous warnings from confidential sources that Villista ad herents are gathering in the Chihua hua desert, both north and south of Ascension, and near the motor trail leading from Columbus to Casas Grandes for the purpose of attempting to cut the American line of commi-r.i-cation. Trails Are Guarded. An extra heavy guard of infantry- j men, with specific instructions in the event of an attack, was placed on a One of the earlv residents nf truck train, which left here fcr the Plattsmouth and Cass county hits been ont Sunday. Isolated camps of sol called away frcm this earth at the 'tiers guarding the line were reached close of a long and useful life, accord- i -he field telegraph and ordered to j ing to dispatches from Omaha giving watch closely for sgns of hostile the news and death of Mrs. Amelia forces. Lieutenant A. W. Guillon, Sage Duke, the aged widow of the late Twentieth infantry, of Lexington, Ky., Eibert T. Maybe Villa Fooled Him? Unless Francisco Villa is definitely located within the next day or two, it is believed here that General Funs- ton will begin a dogged search for him in the mountains west and south of Guerrero. General Pershing did not get a re port to General Funston Sunday, but his chief of staff reported, indicating that the line of communication was maintained, and no mention of Villa was made in the news. There is in creasing belief that General Villa may nave been deceived with regard to the direction taken by Villa and uries. Some reports indicate that he was not in jured at all and instead of going to the northeast of Guerrerro that he had moved into the hills to the south and east, a direction that American The Knichts and Ladies of Seeuritv nrmv officers had expected him to will hold their regular meeting on take. News from Mexican sources that Carranza's force had proven his prom ise of co-operation by preventing the rscr.pe of Villa into the mountains was anxiously awaited at headquarters, as but little information ris to the opera tions of the Mexican government troops has been received and that only in an unoiueial manner.
