Newell delightfully en tertained a number of lady friends yesterday afternoon at an afternoon kensington at her pretty home on West Marble street. This very pleas ant occasion wu in honor of Mrs. Ida Wagner of Detroit, Mich., who foimerly resided in this city and who is making an extended visit with her father, John Waterman, and sister, Miss Alma, in this city. Stitching on dainty fancy work, interspersed with pleasant conversation , furnished plenty of amusement and afforded the guests much pleasure. Victrola selec tions was another pleasing feature of the afternoon's entertainment, which was very much enjoyed by the guests. At a suitable time the guests were invited to the dining room, where a lovely appointed three-course luncheon was served by the hostess. A few moments devoted to various diversions and then the guests dispersed, very much indebted to the hostess for her kind hospitality and the splendid af ternoon afforded them and expressed much pleasure at having had the op portunity of being with Mrs. Wagner again.
