The Ladies Aid Society of Christian church held their parcel post sale and dinner at the church last Saturday, and the affair was a success in every particular. Earhardt, of Herman, Neb raska, was in Murray a few days this week visiting with his son, Jim, who is making his home with George shields, west of town. Mr. Earhardt was principal of the Murray schools a number of years ago, and has a great many friends here who were pleased to see him. Henry Heebner, who for a number of years was manager of the Farmers' Elevator at Murray, went to Cedar Creek last Monday, where he takes charge of the Duff Grain Co. elevator at that place. Henry Heebner is a good grain man, and will prove such in the employ of the Duff Grain Co., at Cedar Creek. ' The Library Association met on Tuesday evening with Mrs. Kikendall, Mrs. Gapen, and Mrs. Minford as hestesses. The meeting was very Iargly attended and a most njoyabIe time was had. Among other business transacted, Mrs. Gapen was chosen as delegate to attend the District Meeting of Woman's Clubs to be held at Bethany. There was only one act that occur red in Murray last Thursday evening at the Commercial Club gathering to mar the complete success of the occas ion, and that was the purloining of a number of articles from the automo biles of some of the visitors. The auto of Mr. ar.d .Mrs. Otto Puis was left behind the store of Puis & Gansemer, ind some one took therefrom an inner ube; a tool kit Was taken from the ar of Herman Beck, also one from the car of Nick Friedrich. There has deen a great deal of suspicion on some Murray home talent in this matter, and there it going to be an effort made to locate the guilty parties. It is certainly a deplorable affair, and those guilty of the act should be ap prehended, and placed within the hands of the law to be dealt with ac cordingly. A portion of the stolen property has been found near the town which goes to show that it wa of r.o value to the parties that took it, and was simply done to injure some one that had use for the articles. This was a trick that was least expec ted by the members of the Commercial Club, and one that will long be re membered by them. Sold every where. Weather Knocks Business. The Place to Buy Lumber. There never was a season so favor able for building and makinc im provements around your farm home as this one has been, and the activity around the Murray lumber yard is an evidence of this fact. More of all grades of lumber is being sold this spring than for many seasons. The demand for good goods and the fact that it can always be found at this lumber yard at the right prices are the causes for the increased business. Mr. Kikendall is after the lumber business of this locality, not only from the fact that it is due him, but be cause he is ready and willing to meet all competition on the numerous grades of lumber. The rainy weather that has visited the city today certainly is most de pressing to the general business con ditions, as there were very few who, unless they were absolutely forced to came down to the business section of the city to do their shopping, and those who did soon retired to shelter from the chilly and wet weather.
