BERT ELLEDGE HAS CLOSE
GALL WHILE SETTING ON
RAILING OF HOLLY'S STORE
Last evening Pert Elledge decided
to take a rest from standing up, and
accordingly started to sit down on thj
railing along the arcaway east of
the William Holly building on Fourth
street, and thereby came near havuig
a very unpleasant fall. The iron
pipe that forms the top of the rail
ing is rathlr loose, and when Uorz
sat down it turned and had it n't
been for his quickness he would have
teen thrown to the bottom of th?
areaway, a distance of several feo
but as it was he was able, after a f-.-v
seconds, to regain his balance an
save himself from falling. The rad
ing has been loose for some time an 1
is liable to cause serious damage to
someone if it is not fixed, but the
owner of the building has been await
ing the time when it would be pos
sible to put in a permanent walk and
do away with the railing, as well as
with the old boad walk that has been
in bad shape for several months.
