Thp work at thr Missouri T'ncific depot is open nights and the patrons and Scotty, our faithful agent, has been relieved by two men being placed here to assist him. Now the depot is open nights and the pupils will receive the ordinary comforts of travel. Uox Social a Big Success. The box social and entertainment given at the Lewiston church by Miss Anna Hist and Miss Hartwick was a success in every sense of the word. The program given by the pupils was j well rendered and showed the train ing given by the teachers. The at tendance was very large. The hand some boxes were all sold at a round sum. The proceeds were .$63.20. Much credit is due Miss Rist and Miss Hartwick for the pleasant and enjoy able evening for those who were present. Public Sale .January 12th. Kobt. Sh racier and II. C. Long were Plattsmouth visitors Wednesday of this week, and among- other matters that caused their trip to the county seat was ordering of sale bills for Mr. Shrader's sale that will be held on the 12th of January, which were ordered at the Journal office. Mr. Shrader and family are going to leave Murray shortly after the sale, moving- to South Omaha, where Mr. Shrader has purchased the Beveridge transfer line. Wolf Hunt Next Sunday. There will be a wolf and rabbit hunt next Sunday near the vicinity of Rock Bluffs, and everyone desiring to do so are cordially invited to be on hand. The hunting1 party will as semble at the P. S. Hall farm early Sunday morning: and then proceed to make things lively for the rabbits and wolves. A very enjoyable event was that of last Friday evening at the Lewiston Church- when the pupils, their teach rs, parents and friends gathered at a box party given by the pupils and teachers of School District Nos. 7 and 3. A very interesting Christmas pro gram opened the evening's entertain ment, this program being rendered by the pupils of the two districts and proved very pleasing to the large "lumber in attendance. After the pro gram the lunch boxes were then of fered at auction and the crowd had a merry time bidding, the boxes netting a good sum, some $13.00. A voting contest for a fine box of candy for the popular young lady netted the neat sum of $20.00. The pupils and the teachers. Misses Irene Hartwick and Anna Rys, are to be congratulated on the success, both in a financial and so cial way, as there was an unusually large number in attendance and all report a most delightful time.
