Minutes of previous sessions read and ap proved, when the following' bus iness was transacted in regular form. County clerk reported , having issued a Peddler's license to C. W. Jewell, permitting him to sell, or peddle various remedies within Cass County, Nebraska, for a period of one year, outside of the limits of any city or incorporated illage. Resignation of Calvin H. Taylij as county attorney of Cass county, Nebraska, received and same laid on tin table. Petitions received from legal ot-rs of South Bend. Elmwood and Salt Creek precincts, contain ing names of 1G1 signers, pet itioning the Board of County Commissioners to enter an order .submitting the question of elect ing a county assessor in said county to said electors Statutes of Nebraska for I'H'J. The above petitions refused by board on account of not comply ing with section 1J35, of Revised Statutes of Nebraska for 11)13 which provides that in any county upon presentation of a petition to the county board, not less than sixty days before any general election signed by a least ten per cent of the electors of the county secured in not less than two lifths of the townships or precin cts of said county, the proposition shall be submitted to the elect ors of said county. News of the death of Mrs. Robert Ridemmr (formerly Mis Louise Gadway;, was received in Louisville with profound regret by all her many friends, she left Louisville a little more than a year ago for Oklahoma to nuie her sister, Mrs. E. C. Ripple, where she met and married Hob ert Ridenour, a prosperous young farmer, about eight months aim. Dr. 11. J. LehnholT, of Lincoln, visited over night Saturday with his uncle, John Ossenkop, basing been called down to sec Mrs. Amos Keiser. The latter, while not bedfast, has been in very poor health for some time. Mrs. Fred Brammer is making a ten days' visit at Scribner, Neb., where she went particularly to set Hie twins who recently arrived at, the home of Mr. Brammer's sis ter.
