Steiner of Lincoln will arrive in Murray Saturday evening for a visit with Mrs. Steiner's parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Hei-.-r. Miss Yronica Heryer. from N braska Citv, daughter of Mr. and Mis. J. W. Herder, came up thi week for a few davs' visit with her- grandparents. Mr. and Mrs. J W. Herper. Mis Freda Heck, assistant telephone operator-, went out to the farm home of Mrs. Arthur Copenhaver this week to assist in the preparing: of pood things to eat for the harvesters. Alf Nickels, who has been in Ihe hospital for the past few weeks, returned home from Omaha last week. The treatment at the hos pital has j: really assisted Mr. Nickels in his rheumatic troubles, but he is still far from well. Hew Membership Contest. The Ladies' Missionary society have for the past few days been conduct inir a very interesting membership and money contest. The tdd members of the society wore diidod into two classes. wilh Mrs. Charles Spangler cap lain of the Lavender side, and Mrs. .1 Kennedy captain of the Yellow side, and the work of se curing new members and cash was started. The loosers in Ihe contest were In give Ihe society a picnic. After- the battle was fought and the proceeds and members counted lip, it developed that the good work was a tie. I'.ach side secured -T'-T in cash, a total of .s.Vi. The Laender side enrolled the names of four active and five associate members, and the Yellow side live active and Ihree associate members.
