POINTERS FOR
THE CHRISTMAS
SHOPPERS
Those Whp Have Prepared to
Meet Wants of Those Seeking
Suitable Presents.
In the Christmas lour of yes
terday the block on the south side
of Main street, between Fifth ami
Sixth streets; was covered, and
this issue will take up the mer
chants on Sixth street who art
risht in the front ranks with
Christmas jroods.
The jewelry store of J. W. Cra-
bill is aiways one of the finest
appenrins in the city, but in tip'
holidav season esperiallv is its
offering's something well worth
seeing, as the stock of goods
carried is quite large and em
braces all manner of gifts in
sterling silver brush sols, mir
rors, manicure sets and every
article that could possibly bo
thought of in this line of goods,
The sdork of jewelry is especially
large and the array of stickpins,
cuff buttons, watch fobs and
charms and tine waiehes at all
prices, for the men. makes a
most tempting" display, while the
line of gifts for the ladies is
equally large and includes rings
of all kinds, lockets, ornamental
pins, toilet sets, as well as other
articles suitable for the ladies'
dressing table and for her adorn
ment. The firm also has in con
nection the store of the l'latls-
moulh Music company, which ha
a large line of Victrolas an.
records on sale, any of which
would make a most acceptabh
present to either young or old.
The drug" store of F. S. Fricke
& Co. is not behind its neighbors
in ils offerings for the holiday
trade, having a fine line of per
fumes, toilet articles, candies
and fancy stationery, in addition
to the cigars for the gentlemen
smokers. The Uexall store
carries a fir.-t-elass line of
goods, which gives the shopper a
good field from which-to choose
their presents and leaves little
reason for anyone to have much
trouble in making their selection
from this stock.
The store of V. It. Murdock is
also crowded to the doors with
articles suitable for the Christ
mas season and here gifts for
young and old alike may be
found in profusion and at very
reasonable prices within the
reach of everyone. Their .-lock
of goods' is so numerous and
varied that il is impossible to
begin to enumerate the different
articles offered the public, but a
trip there will prove Convincing.
The big" furniture store of M.
Ilild is one where the more sub
stantial gifls may be secure 1,
such as handsome chairs, rugs,
beautiful pictures, music cab
inets, buffets, sideboards or any
thing in the line of furniture that
!he heart of the most discrimin
ating purchaser could possibly
desire to purchase for their loved
ones or friends. Mr. Ilild allows
nothing to stand in the way of
securing for his customers the
best that the market affords, and
this year the line selected is most
complete and the range in prices
will fit any purse, great or small,
with lirst-class furniture at the
lowest possible margin of profit
Consistent with good business
met hods.
At the store of Zuckweib-r .v.
I.ulz the Christmas spirit is quite
in evidence and their line of
goods display all the beautiful
offerings of the world of com
merce in the line of dress fabrics,
as well as a large assortment of
fancy aprons, collars, sweater
coats for ladies, hosiery, hand
kerchiefs, mufflers and all
similar articles that can be found
in a first-class sfore of this kind
and they can well satisfy the de
sire of anyone for a substantial
remembrance to give jo their
family or friends on the Christ
mas season.
The establishments- of J. S.
Hall and J. E. Tuey. while they
have made no elaborate prepara
tions for the holiday season, are
well filled with a large stock of
first-class groceries and dry
goods, all of which would assist
greatly in the somi cheer of the
Yubdide and their customers will
be aide to secure many bargain
from their' stocks of goods,
either in lbe grocery or dry goods
seel ins.
On North Sixlh street the
siores. while p.oj as-Tvumerous as
those 'on the south side, are fill
ed with equally large stocks of
'G b CLOTHES
TtteouAHAraeto mnb-
pxiils awaiting the coininj; of the
seeker of the Christinas jj-ift.
The store of Slreiht &
Slreifiht is filled to the doors with
furniture of all sizes, prices. and
descriptions, which would come
in most handily in the way of
rJirislinas presents, and a call
there will develop the fact that of
beautiful chairs, bookcases, buf
fels. bed room suits and hand
some pictures they have a full
supply and are ready to serve
the wishes of anyone who may
desire to purchase articles of
this kind.
I.orenz Itiolhers, the Sixth
street butchers and grocers have
stocked up for the holiday sea
son with every delicacy that the
markets of the country can af
ford and they should be added to
the list of the places to visil on
the holiday shopper's lost if they
desire to secure the choicest of
ferinjrs possible to procure for
the comfort and .pleasure of the
inner man.
