Last. Saturday morning a deal
was closed whereby J. M. Stone
ami son, Charles S. Stone, and
also Sain Fix, disposed of I heir
entire stock in the Hank of Yampa
to Roy Cox and W. It. McHride,
both of Denver, Colorado.
The announcement of the sale
was a surprise to Mr. Stone's
many friends ami ihe patrons of
the bank. Charles S. Slone has
been cashier of this institution for
I lie past four years and has built
up the business uniil Ihe Hank of
Yampa is regarded as one of Ihe
ending banks of this section of
lie si ale.
While in Ynmp-i Mr. Slone has
rained for himself Ihe reputation
if being a careful and courleous
tanker and will be missed by Ihe
ilizeus of Hie community, of
which he has been one of Ihe lead
ers during his resilience here, lie
has always been rendy to lake hold
of any legitimate enterprise that
would leail o (In advancement of
Ihe lowu or comn inily ami has
been a liberal conlribulor to all
public underl akings.
While under Mr. Stone's inau-
agemenl I lie ItaiiK lias maile a
constant and gradual gain in
business, and besides paying
dividends wilh a clock-work reg
ularity, the surplus of the bank
has passed from $'.,000 to .17,Wll).
The equipment of the bank has
also been added to tine of Ihe
latest and most up to date safes
having been purchased. '
Mr. Stone has several good bank
oilers awaiting him, but. at pres
ent will not enter into business,
but intends to tak. a much need
ed rest. Later h" and his father,
who is a wealthy banker in Ne
braska, will buy Ihe controlling
interest in some growing banking
institution where Charlie will have
enlire charge.
Mr. and Mrs. Slone have been
favorites in social circles, where
they will be missed by their many
friends. Mr. Stone will slay with

Slone will go lo Del Norte, Coin.,

later git to their old home in Ne

and old friends. The annual sum
mer visits of Mr. James M. Slone

Dies at Home of Sister.
Died Al, the home of her sis
r, Mrs. Harry Parsell, near Alvo,
Neb., Sunday, April 20, at t p. m.,
Miss Agatha Tucker, after an ill
ness of four years. Miss Tucker,
Ihe beginning of her illness,
was teaching near Wilber, Neb.,
where she was born and had lived
all her life. Up tojour years ago
her TTfe gave promise of a bright
and happy future, but her health
gave way, and after years of men
al and physical suffering death
laimed her for its own. She is
survived by one brother, .1. vv.
Tucker, and three sisters, Mrs.
ieorge McFarland of Clarinda,
fowa; Mrs. Fred Eel row of Gor-
lon. Neb., and Mrs. Harry Parsell
of Ibis place. The remains were
aken lo Wilber, Neb., April .'2,
where they were laid to rest in
Sunnyside cemele'-y beside I hose
of her falher, mot her, sister and
ind her.
