It is an im It is said the penitentiary has been in very bad shape for some time and many rumors have been set afloat regarding the condition of affairs existing there. Some one high up in the management of affairs is responsible for the outbreak last Thursday. :o: The state penitentiary was never in a better condition than it was under the administration of Governor Shallenberger. Such a faot can be pointed to with pride. There never was a man in charge of the penitentiary who did his duty more successfully than War den Smith. It-q.
