A vigorous marriage restriction law will be submitted to the next session of the Nebraska legis lature with the weight of ex ecutive approval behind it. This Information was brought to the Nebraska conference of Charities and Corrections Tuesday by J. A. Leavitt, superintendent of the Nebraska Society of the Friend less. Mr. Leavitt said that a bill has been drawn by the society and submitted to the governor for ap proval. He said the governor had 0. K'd. the bill andpromiscd to incorporate a recommendation for its passage. The bill is entitled "An act to prevent the marriage of unlit" and is as follows: "Section 1. Be it enacted by the legislature of Nebraska that no license to marry shall be is sued when cither of the contract ing parties is an imbecile', epilep tic, of unsound mind, or under guardianship as a person of un sound mind, nor to any who is or has been within five years an in mate of any county asylum or home for indigent persons, unless it can be made to appear to ONE HUNDRED DDL county judges by competent medi cal and expert testimony, that the cause of such condition has been removed and that the party is able and is likely to continue able to care for a family, nor to an habitual drunkard, nor to one under the influence of intoxicat ing liquor or narcotic drug at the time of application for a license. "Section 2. Be it further en acted that it shall be unlawful for county judges to issue a license to marry to a person who fails to present a medical certifi cate, duly sworn to, showing said person to be free from all con tagious and veneral diseases, said certificate to be sworn to by a licensed physician and to be fixed with the usual application to marry." Section three prescribes the form of certificate required. Section four fixes a penalty of .I00 to $.r00 "for issuance of a license without the required certificate. Section five makes is suance of a false certificate perjury on the part of the physi cian who issues it, since the certificate is required, to be sworn to. Lady Minstrels Will Donate This Sum to the Worthy Cause Conditionally. The members of the Platls mouth Players' club or Lady Minstrels, had a meeting last night and audited the bills, and after meeting all expenses, de cided to contribute $100 to the Y. M. C. A. fund. The money will be deposited in the bank to be turned over to the treasurer of the Y. M. C. A. committee when the $2,000 necessary for the enterprise has been raised, in cluding the $100. In the event that the money is not needed for the Y. M. C. A. the $100 will be given to the Plattsmouth public library. Thus the Y. M. C. A. fund, which has been growing slowly, will receive a big boost from the efforts of the Lady Minstrels. The young ladies who first or iginated the idea of giving a per formance composed of home talent players, are entitled to great credit for their energy and hard work in achieving the suc cess which has crowned their efforts. - ! Dovey & Son's stock was com pleted Tuesday, and the clerical force having been under the strain of added toil for so long, George E. Dovey, senior member of the firm, decided to give his clerks a slight surcease of trouble and planned a little sur prise for them, which was sprung on the entire company after the day's toil had ended. The affair was in the nature of an oyster supper, and Mrs. Brilt, who knows so well how to cook the toothsom bivalves to the queen's taste, wa9 enlisted by Mr Dovey to do this difficult task. Oyster cocktail, oyster slew, with society wafers and olives stuffed with almonds, found a place in the menu. Charles Dovey was elected loaslmaster and general entertainer.
