President Appoints Committee.
President Pollock of the Com
mercial club has named the com
mittee provided for at the meet- j
ing of tho club last Thursday
night. The following-named busi
ness men constitute the com
mittee: C. A. Ilawls, chairman; C.
C. Parmele, K. II. Wescott, 11. J.
Hayes, Carl Fricke, M. S. Hriggs
and J. P. Faller, seven of the most
progressive hustling men of the
town. The committee will meet
soon at the call of the chairman
! and no doubt arrange for the can
!vass of the cily for membership
llickels. The proposition we feel
sure will meet Willi nearly re
sponse from the citizens of the
cily and vicinity. One gentleman,
who is temporarily.in the cily, will
contribute $25 toward the enter
prise and maybe more before the

their two other sisters there.

Meet With Mrs. Charles Troop.
The Ladies' Aid society of the
First Presbyterian church held a
very pleasant meeting at the
prelly home of Mrs. Charles
Troop yesterday afternoon. On
account or the very cold weather
there was not so many of the
ladies present, but those in at
tendance did have a very nice
lime, as Mrs. Troop is a splendid
entertainer. The regular busi
ness session was held, after which
the ladies indulged in a social
lime. Mrs. Troop served a dainty
luncheon, which was very much
appreciated.
