The Union boys went to Ne
hawka last Sunday for a ball
game, and leaving three of Ihe
regular players at home caused
them to shirt about from their

game by a score of 9 to 3. All

the country, Mr. Searle being al
ready convinced of the advantage
of owning Arkansas lands. Mr.
and Mrs. MeCauley were so well
pleased that they invested in a
quarter section of improved land
within a few miles of Monlicello.
Mr. Schmidt mann has about
closed a deal for 2'i0 acres of
land in the same county. He says
the gardens are looking fine and
vegetables, such as peas, are
ready for use. The flora of I hat
locality is magnificent and was at
its height while the parly was
there. Some of the planting was
not as far along as in ordinary
seasons, for the reason that they
have just, had a monlli of rainy
weather and the 1 a ml was loo wet
for corn planting. The foliage on
Ihe trees is a ninnlh in advance of
us here. Mr. Schmidt mann en
joyed his outing immensely.
While in Arknnsas he was piloted
over the country by Mr. Thomas
Holland, who has been a resident
