Charles Phllpot Is enjoying a fine
duck hunt on his ranch in Logan
county, Nebraska. He expects to sup
ply all his friends with ducks on his
return home.

Mr. and Mrs. James Hill are now
the parents of another on, born
Wednesday morning. This makes
four boys that this excellent couple
have been blessed with. .

J. W. and W. J. Phllpot shipped a

Mrs. Rex Young and her mother,

Nebraska City Saturday.

Harve Gregg has Just completed
some fine improvements at the
George Rhode-n farm west of town.
Harve Is one of the best carpenters in
this vicinity and those who employ
him are guaranteed good work.
Jesse R. McV'ay is spending a few
days this week In Murray. Mr. Mc
Vay has Just returned from a trip to
his old home near Windsor, Shelby
county, Illinois, and reports matters
there about the same as here.
Mont Robb was In Murray a few
hours Wednesday morning en route
for his home ntar Wyoming. Mr.
Robb was in Lincoln Tuesday arrang
ing to take his position as steward
of the penitentiary April 1.
Earl Lancaster, living on the Ben
nett Chrlswlsser farm, four miles
southwest of Murray, moved here
from Scotland county, Missouri,
about six weeks ago. The writer
knew the young man's father back In
Old Missouri.
Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Holmes and Mr.
and Mrs. W. S. Smith went to Platts
mouth to attend church Sunday even
ing, and returned In the snowstorm
that was so fierce after the services.
The auto was engineered by Jim, who
understood the road pretty well, not
withstanding thesnpw almost blinded
him ;
Mrs. J. W. Herger departed Wed
nesday morning for Lincoln, where
Bhe was called on account of the
serious Illness of her son-in-law, Mr.
E. M. Stelner, who Is threatened with
an attack of typhoid " fever. The
Journal hopes the case Is not bo
serious as at first reported and that
Mr. Stelner will soon recover.

The J. I. Case Plow Co. will have
a representative in Murray at the
store of Davis & Pitman on Saturday,
April 1st, to give a free lecture and
demonstration of the many good
oualities of their farm machinery.
They will show you how easy it is
lo pull one of their new self-leveling,
high-lift gang plows, two men pull
Ins the plow while It is turning two
12-inch furrows in unplowed ground.
They will also give you a free lecture
on the uses of plows that you should

Thii ty-ninth Anniversary.
J. V. Holmes celebrated his thirty
ninth anniversary last Friday even
ing, and Mrs. Holmes took it upon
herself to Invite a few friends to as
sist Jim In doing so. Consequently
the occasion was made a most
pleasant one, not only for Mr.
Iloln.es, but for all who were fortun
ate enough to be present. An elegant
dinner was served at 7:30, which all
pronounced most delicious. The bal
ance of the evening was occupied in
playing card At a late hour the
guests repaired to tehlr homes with
the wish that Mr. Holmes may live to
enjoy many more such pleasant
events. The guests were: Dr. and
Mrs. Gilmore and son, Walker; Mr.
