Yesterday's World-Herald contain ed a notice in its Council Bluffs de partment of the issuance of a mar riage license at that city to Louis Schutz, aged 60, of this city and Alice Boneline, aged 36, also of this city. No particulars of their mar riage was given. The parties es pecially the groom, are well known in this city where they have lived for several years. The groom has a great many friends here who will extend their congratulations upon his ma trimonial venture. He is a popular and well known farmer from just west of the city and a gentleman of the highest standing in the commun ity. The bride is a lady with many accomplishments and stands excel- ently in the community. She also has a great many good friends who will join in their best wishes for a long and happy wedded life. Chriswisser from near Murray, spent last evening in the city, coming up from that point with G. M. Minford. Henry Knabe from near Nehawka was among those from the country in the city last evening, having busi ness here to look after. I. S. White, the veteran Murray Democrat, is In the city today at tending to business matters, driving up from his home this morning. R. R. Nickles, one of Rock Bluffs precinct well known residents, is spending the day in the city, driving up from his home this morning. Fred Miller, of Omaha, a brother of Charles MJller, living south of the city, is spending today in Platts mouth, making his brother a visit. A. E. Stites, the Union druggist, was among those coming up from that enterprising town, was in the city last evening, being registered at the Hotel Riley. Louis Wolf who has been in the city for several days making a visit with his sister, Mrs. Lizzie Klinger, departed this morning for Ravenna, Neb., where he is employed. William Stottler, one of the old settlers of this county, together with his son Corry L., were in the city to day transacting business. While here the gentlemen called at the Journal ofee and renewed their sub scription to the paper for another year. They were welcome callers and whenever they are in the city they will always find the Journal's latch string out to them. A. L. Becker, the well known stockman of Union, departed last Monday night from that place for St. Louis with five cars of cattle but on reaching Kansas City, he found that he could do so well in the market there that he sold the cattle at that point. He cleared a nice sum of money on the stock. He was ac companied on his trip by Beveral of the young men of Union. W. H. Hell, the proprietor of the Pleasant View farm, mention of whose presence in the city is made in another column, was a visitor at the Journal office this afternoon and renewed his subscription to the paper for another year.
