Buekner, the presiding elder, preached, assisted by Rev. Story. Sam Jordan returned from Hall county last Thursday. Harry Van Ackern lost a horse last Friday morning while hauling hogs to town. Mr. Klefer brought the load on to town for him. Isaac Poland and wife have gone to Colorado Springs. They will visit at Mlnden and Iloldrege en route, The Standard Rearers held a pov erty social on the church lawn Fri day evening. The attendance was large and a good time Is reported. Rev. In speaking of the Wiles family reunion held last week the Glen wood Tribune says: "The annual picnic of the descendants of Thomas Wiles, an early day settler in Mills county, was held last Thursday at the Thomas Wiles home in Platts mouth. Some 200 people were pres ent and of course they had a good time. There was a ball game be tween the Iowa and Nebraska visi tors, resulting in a victory of 10 to 4 ln favor of the Iowa boys. These reunions have always been held at Plattsmouth, but next year the big reunion will be held at the Glenwood lake. Thomas Wiles set tled south of Glenwood in 1852, but shortly afterwards moved across the river onto a farm near Plattsmouth. Relatives in attendance this year from Glenwood and vicinity were James I. Burger and family, Clyde Burger and family, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph King, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wiles, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Bass, Marlon Wiles and son Edwin, and Misses Alta Burger and Jeanette Hubbard. Fricke & Co. Enjoyed a Pleasant Trip. L. M. McVey returned home this morning from Magnet, Wausa and Randolph, where he spent a week visiting with Cass county people and looking at the county. He seems highly pleased with his trip and reports former Cass countians doing well. At Randolph he met Joe Ellington, a former resident of old Cass, and enjoyed a pleasant visit with him. Loses Valuable Articles. Archibald Hughey, the well known and popular traveling man of Nebraska City, who is spending a portion of his hard earned vaca tion in the city, regrets the loss of an umbrella and also a large bucket of various samples of goods. Just who eloped with his umbrella is un known, but the identity of the party or parties who purloined his other ingredients is suspected, and it is claimed actually known to C. S. Lusk of the National Cash Register company, and several local persons. Just what action Mr. Hughey will take in the matter Is unknown, but severe punishment will probably be meted out to the miscreant who took advantage of Hughey's confid ing disposition.
