Nearly every Murrav State lank James Campbell spent Sunday with relatives on tho river. Miss Pauline Oldham ban been under the weather the past few days. Prof. 'Asch left on the train Wed nesday evening for a few days visit In Omaha. Mr. and Mrs. Henry Thlelo from near Nehawka were visiting wtyii friends In ,Murray Monday. Anybody wishing space on the celebration grounds will please cor respond with J. W. Holmes. Charley Spnngler went to Omaha last Saturday and purchased an Auburn automobile. It Is a good car. Dr. N. H. and Louie Puis drove down to Plattsmouth Monday with the In tentlon of taking the Burlington fast mall train to Omaha. When they ar rived at the county seat they found that the new time card had taken that train off and they were com pelled after k few hours' visit with Plattsmouth f rl mis, to return htme on every business man has contributed very liberally for the expense of a good time on that day. Every feat ure that will give enjoyment and excitement for tho day willbe brought to Murray everything from the greased pig to a ballon ascnslon. A meeting of the citizens was call ed Tuesday night for the purpose of considering the question. Mr. O. A. Davis was chosen permenant chair man and Glen Docdeker treasurer of the committees. Brown, mayor of Kenosha came In yesterday for a business visit In the city and while here took oc casion to call and have the Journal sent to Mrs. Kittle Tucker at Merino, Col. Mr. Brown also added his name to tho list of dally subscribers for a trial subscription. Llg is one of the best citizens of eastern Cass county and one with a host of friends In this city and vicinity. The Journal always appreciates his visits and hopes they w ill be many and often. Miss Cleo Applegate of Union, who has been chosen as a teacher In the public schools c,f this city for the coming year, is In the city today visiting the public schools. Miss An plegate is oue of the best possible selections to have been made by the board and comes to the schools with a reputation as an educntor already established, she having several years experience In teaching. Miss Apple gate Is the handsome and accomplish ed daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lee Applegate, the prominent people of the vicinity of Union. A. J. McNatt, one of the best citizens of Kenosha and chief of police cf that city under Mayor Brown, was also a caller at the Journal office and added his name to the daily list yesterday. Mr. McNatt is' a friend cf the Journal who Is al ways welcome and he seldom fails to visit the city but what be finds time to drop in and see the publisher of this great paper. His visits are al ways welcome, too. Mr. McNatt 13 the ow ner of a fine colt which he be lieves will take first place for weight and development.
