Our merchants have a fine display
of holiday goods. No one need go
elsewhere to do their holiday shop
ping. A box social and program will be
held at school district No. 4 Friday
evening. The proceeds are for a new
organ. The Rebekahs were busy Tuesday
evening confering a degree on a
candidate. A large number were
present. Refreshments were served
at the close of the lodge.

at Omaha Wednesday.

to help their parents when they ought

Harold Harmon, who has been
helping at home, returned to school.
Allen Nelson who has been hiring
out to saw weed has returned to
school.
Charles Fverctt, who has been hav
ing trouble with his eyes, returned to
school Monday.
The boys of the eighth grade would
have better lessons if there were a
few girls in the class.
Hal Harnett was a pleasant visi
tor In our school Tuesday afternoon.
School will close Thursday Decem
ber 24th, and remain dosed until

claimed Alice M. Mills, an aged lady
who had lived In this city for the
past two years.
Mrs. Mills was born on February
2, ISIti at Lexington, Ky., and dur
ing her lifetime she had lived iu var
ious points In the country, coming
to this city some two years ago from
Omaha.
Dining her comparatively brief
residence In this city Mrs. Mills had
made quite a large circle of friends
and acquaintances all of whom are
greatly shocked in hear of her un
