Virgin was looking after some business matter in Plattsmouth Wed ndsday. Win. Hutcheson and wife are rejoicing over the arrival of a new boy at their home last week. Col. Seybolt and John Stones was in Omaha Monday, the Col. going to see the Dr. in regard to his eyes. Wm. Kellison and wife are among the hai'I'y people of this section this week, over the arrival of a new born girl at their home Tuesday evening. Rex Young has commenced work in James Loughridge blacksmith shop. Rex looks like a full-fledged blacksmith, and surely takes to the work like an old time hand. Dr. Walker, late of Union, has lo cated in Gothenburg, Neb., where he will enter a new field in the practice of medicine. We trust that the Doctor may be well p. leased with his new home. Uncle Jimmy Root, of Lincoln, ar rived in Murray Tuesday for a few days visit with friends and relatives at the old h me. We are always glad to see Uncle Jimmie, and especially when he looks so hale and hearty as upon this trip. Mrs. Rose Wiseman, of Med ford, Oklahoma, arrived in Murray this week, on a visit to Lev uncle and aunt, Mr. Mrs. D. J. Pi In an. It will be to your in terest to see their line before making your purchases. Look for their big ad next week. Uncle "Bob" Nickels Hurt. Our excellent and most highly re spected old friend, R. R. Nickels, per haps better known as "Uncle Bob," met with quite a serious accident while returning home from Plattsmoi.fi last Saturday evening. He was passing along the road immediately south of the county seat, near the residence of Chas. Cook, when the team became frightened and ran the wheels of the vehicle off one side of the culvert, throwing the old gentleman to the ground a distance of about fifteen feet, placing him in an almost unconscious condition, and re ceiving a number of very severe bruises. Timely assistance from some nearby friends saved him from any exposure to the weather and was taken to their home, where he remained over night. At present the old gentleman is resting very comfortably, considering the severe bruises, and it is hoped that no serious injuries will result. Maple Grove (Special C'oricsi mi ulc !') Lewis traded horses with James Sage of Plattsmouth, last week. W. H. Puis, Louis Puis, P. A. Hild and E. E. Stewart of Mt. Pleasant pre cinct, attended the Dahlman banquet at Omaha last Saturday night. Levi Rusterholtz delivered forty head of hogs to Amick & Berger at Murray Monday. Mrs. Corbettisthe guest of her sister, Mrs. Herman Beck this week. P. A. Hild and family, W. H. Puis and family, Fred Lutz and Mata Puis visited at the home of Louis Puis Sun day. Chas. Herren made a trip to Murray Tuesday. Mrs. Otto Puis was a Weeping Water visitor Tuesday. Quite a number of this section attend ed the public sale at James Lemon's south of Nehawka Wednesday. Modern Woodmen of America Election At the regular meeting of the Cass Camp, No. 332, last night at their hall, they elected the following officers for the coming year: George Loucinsky, consul; Oliver Hudson, advisor; Wm. Hassler, banker; W. A. White, clerk; Chas. Birtwell, watchman; James An drews, sentry; John Carmack, escort; D. B. Smith, W. J. Streight and C. E. Crabill, board of managers; E. D. Cum mins and J. S. Livingston, physicians. It was decided to have a social dance on Christmas eve., and J. L. Root, Matt Joy and J. R. Sanders were ap pointed as a committee to make the necessary arrangements. The Board Broke. While working on an automatic divice for regulating the heat at the Ray school house, (district No. 37,) and while John Bauer was setting on a board boreing a hold in the floor, the broad broke precipitating John in the bottom of the basement in the cellar, in falling he struck his knee in such a way as to wrench it and strain the muscles and ligaments, in such a way as to make it almost impossible for him to get arouud.
