V. A. Davis and wife and Mabel, left
Thursday for Seattle, and ether west
ern points, where they will pjiend the
summer.
After being vaccinated and disinfect
ed, Dr. Nelson was released from quar
antine at the Hobson home Saturday
morning, and left for his home at Oma
ha. Miss Llna Leyenberirer, jr:e of the
academy teachers, left for her home
at Drookline, Iowa, where she will spend
the summer. We are glad to announce
that Miss Leyenberirer will return here to
teach next year.
John W. Parish, formerly of Vee -ing
Water, now of San Franc isco, came
up from Auburn Monday, bringing the
body of his mother who died last Satur
day night at the home of her daughter
in Auburn. The Parish family resided
here about sixteen years ago. The father
was buried here, also one daughter. Mr.
J. W, Parish is a large coutrac tor in San
Francisco.
It took from li. S. McCleery but $17
to settle in Judge Archer's court in
Plattsmouth for carving A. Glasgo. The
fine was $5 and costs $12. It will take
the rest of his natural life for Mr. Glas
go to hide from the public the scars
that are the result of the cutting.

A case was filed in the district court
today in which Sarah and Matilda Pet
ersen, ask that the will of the late John
Albert Bauer be set aside and that they
be allowed ono-half of the estate which
at the death of Mr. Bauer was valued
at $16,000, and is now estimated to be
worth $20,000, and some $5."0 in cash.
Since Mr. Bauer's death the increase in
the value of the real estate has given
twenty-five per cent more value to the
land.

The surplus committee of the Burling
