A Pleasant Affair.
A most enjoj'able entertainment oc
curred at the Oxford school house,
west of Murray, on Saturday evening
last, the occasion being the closing of
a very successful term of school of
Miss Vesta Eaton. The program was
a most excellent one, and the recita
tions and exercises generally by the
pupils demonstrated to those present
that the school had been run under
the tutorship of a most competent in
structor. A large audience was pres
ent, ;:nd during the evening refresh
ments consisting of ice cream and cake
was served.
The directors of the district is com
posed of Messrs. Adam Schafer, John
Urish and Fred Engelkemire, and so
well pleased were the directors and
parents that Miss Eaton was tendered
the school for another year year at an
increase of salary. Miss Eaton has not
only made a friend of every pupil of
her school, but of every parent also.
Simon Hanson Dies.
At the Emanuel hospital at Omaha,
at 6 o'clock this morning, where he
has been for some time, since he at
tempted suicide at his home near Ne
hawka. Mr. Hansen's remains will be taken
home this afternoon, and the funeral
will occur tomorrow afternoon at 2
o'clock. Thus ends the sad chapter
of his life, with health so bad that he
thought that he could not be able to
keep up the fight for existence he
tries to end it all by eating matches.
In this matter it was thought that
he would fail, and that he would be
brought through by the aid of the
best medical aid, and again returned
to good health. In this the medical
fraternity failed, and this is the end
of the struggle.
Self Dental.
At a banquet given by a wery rich
man those present noticed that their
host quit eating while the best and
richest courses were served. He notic
ed it and smilingly said: "I was com
pelled to deny myself all these good
things that I love so much. Like ycu
I was always fond of eating and drink
ing, till my stomach commanded haltl
I stopped in time and feel fine now."
The stomach will always tell you when
overworked, because it will refuse to
accept such rich food you are losing
your appetite. There is now of course,
Triner's American Elixir of Bitter
Wine which will in every instance re
move all such difficulties. It will give
more strength to the stomach, will
make the digestion quicker and will
rid the blood of all wast matter. You
will not be able to overburden the
stomach. Use this natural wine-remedy
in all cases of a distur
bance of the digestion. There is
no better remedy for the stomach
