several weeks at their home in Hills

J. I. Corley sustained an injury to
one hand last week. A nail penetrat

save himself, his hand struck the nail.
Fred Walker, while unloading a bar
rel from the dray into F. S. Ilarnes'
cellar at the store, slipped and fell.
The barrel rolled over him and besides
bruises, he suffered a dislocation of the

time.
Carpenters are busy on the depot.
The track on the north was moved five
feet f-irther north, and the depot will
set back ten feet further from the
main track on the south. The Missouri
Faciiic is too economical to put much
new lumber into the work, and so the
structure will be all new except both
ends.

The following appeared in the last
issue of the Elmwood Leader-Echo:
"A good looking youner woman not
far from Elmwood is said to be terribly
upset in consequence of a mistake she
made the other day. Going in a
hurry to the Elmwood roller mills
after Hour, she took up what she sup
posed was a clean pillow slip from the
bureau drawer. She skipped into the
mill smiling like a basket of chips and
handed the supposed slip to the pro
prietor who commenced filling it. The
first scoop full went plump through to
the floor. When he raised it up to
see what was the matter,he discovered
two outlets at the bottom heavily
fringed. The lady she lit out with
out saying a word. The miller laid
the article away to await her return,
but up to date she has not appeared.
This is a hutre joke on the miller and
the pretty girl, but the miller who
puts out a brand of flour called
"Golden Gate" says the mistake is
easily understood. After recovering
from the shock he resurrected the
'article," spread it on his Hour chest
and across the said "article" he
recognized his flour brand, Golden
Gate, in big green letters, a little the
worse for the wear but still in a fair
state of preservation."

is something that everyone uses, hut know little
about. Often one is influenced to buy soap just be
cause it is cheap, not because of its true value as a
soap, and the bar that looks bij is the seller. Some
soaps contain as much as 40 per cent of water a
perfectly milled soap contains less than 10 per cent
of water and is perfectly saponfied. Thus a soap to
be of the highest value to the consumer must be of
the highest value in soap quality
1st. To contain nothing to injure the most deli
cate skin.
2nd. It must be perfectly milled.
3rd. Contain the lowest percentage of water.
4th. Be of the highest percentage of purity and
quality and it contains the quantity.
