Weeping Water
From the Herald.
Mr. and Mrs. Jim Johnson of Ash
land, the bride and groom of a few
days, drove over last Sunday to visit
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. P. John
son. Maynard Woodard, a former citizen,
and son of Mrs. A. P. Woodard, who
has been working in the Havelock
shops for a number of years, has been
elected mayor of that city.

smith work last week, met with a
small accident. A piece of iron flew
from a hammer and penetrated to the
bone of one linger, and had to be cut
out.
Walt Nickerson, who was kicked by
a horse some time ago, died at the
home of Mrs. DeVolf, where he has

There is going to be sorce fruit, that
is almost a certainty, but it is going to
be very scarce in Cass county which is
another fact. While we are not fruit
raisers, we have been interviewing
those who do have orchards, and they
say that it is almost a failure.
On Wednesday, April 17th, in San
Antonia, Texas, Miss Leone Blake
more was married to Wallace Moats.

contemplated. The bride's friends

this news, and join The Herald in con
gratulations. The groom is well-to-do
and superintends railroad construction
work in Mexico.
No Bounty on Wolves.
In reply to a communication ad
dressed to the state auditor in regard
to the payment of bounty on wolves,
County Clerk Rosencrans received the
following, which no doubt will save
many inquiries regarding the matter:
Lixcolx. April 1, 1907.
Dkai:Sii:: Relative to payment of
bounty on wolves, we desire to advise
you that this department will be un
able to draw warrants against this
fund, as there is no appropriation
provided for their payment.
This applies to claims already vouch-
ered and that may be vouchered dur
ing the next two years.
It would save this department and
yourself many inquiries if you
would publish these facts in your
county papers as a news item.
Yours Very Truly,
E.M. Skarl, jr.,
State Auditor.

Now comes a quarrel as to who is

It is believed, however, that all of the
