on a short visit.

Mrs. Critchtleld has been quite ill
of late suffering from gall stones.
Mrs. Owen McGrady has been quite
sick with congestion of the lungs, but
is now on the mend.

Dawson county this spring, where he
has a good farm.
T. E. Parmele's recent sale of the
half section-purchased of Mrs. J. O.
McLain, amounted to -522,000.
Money is not so scarce in the coun
try as you- might, imagine. When
Walter Perry had his sale, of 'the two
or three thousand dollars worth of
goods sold, the clerk failed to gather
in a single note. Money and checks
are what the farmer buys with
Harry Wilkinson was quite serious
ly injured last Wednesday, while as
sisting in putting up ice for Joyce. He
slipped and fell, striking the sharpened
end of a pike used for steering the ice,
and it penetrated the flesh about two
inches. The wound bled profusely and
proved quite painful, but he is getting
along nicely.
S. M. Ilolden, one of the old resi
dents of this community, died at the
home of his dauuhter, Mrs. S. J. AmJ
bier, Monday night, February 4r Mr.
Ilolden had been ailing for some time,
buc was thought to be improving un
til last Saturday night, when he suffer
ed a stroke of paralysis which was the
immediate cause of his death. The
funeral will be held from the Congre
gational church Thursday afternoon at
2:30 o'clock.
