We arc glad to see our little friend,
Edith Dovcy on the street again. It
is her first appearance since her ac
cident of a few weeks ago. Miss
Edith says she has lost seventeen
pounds but hopes to be herslef again

at Weeping Water for many years.
Zuckweiller & Lutz have made a
valuable improvement at their store

G. W. Snyder and wife accompanied
by their son Andrew were passengers
to Omaha on the morning train today
taking Andrew to specialist Dr. Pat-
ton to consult the Dr. relative to the
little boy's tonsils.
J. W. Ileasoncr, of South Bene
one of the staunchest republicans
of h'w precinct was called to Platts
mouth to do jury, duty this week.

was selected before reaching Mr,

John Domingo, of Weeping Water,
W. A. Dull, of Murray, John Bogard,
of Avoca and William Kunz of Elm
wood, jurors for the term, returned
this morning to take up the work
of settling facts this morning in the
district court.
Dr. Elslcr and wife, spent the day
in the metropolis, going on the morning
train today. Master Richard, who
celebrated his scve'nth birthday yester
day could not bo presuaded to leave
school, remained here while his parents
visited Omaha.

the right of way about "tins stock
yards and climbing on moving freight
trains, much to the annoyance of the
trainmen, and to the great peril
to their lile.
Ge'orge W. Harshman, one of the
pioneer citizens, from near Avoca was
a Plattsmouth visitor this morning
having been called to the county
scat on business. Mr. Harshman
has returned recently from a trip
to Kansas and other southwestern
counties, with a view of investing
in real estate. Mr. Harshman has
heen a leading farmer in his commun
ity for many years, and in spite of
his politics is a fine man to meet.
Miss Kittie Cummings spent the
day in Omaha going on the early
train this morning.
Roy Iscnbcrger, of Chappell, Nebr.
was in the city looking after his real
estate business this morning.
John Frochlick of Ealgc, came in
this morning and resumed his ac
customed place on the jury.
Mrs. A. M. Franks and Mrs. Lam
borg spent the day in Omaha going
on the early train this morning.
John Chapman spent Sunday even
ing with his mother's family in this
city departing on No 15 this morning.
F. E. Egcnbcrger and wife spent
the day with Omaha friends, departing
for the metropolis on the early train.
Mrs. P. Lindsey and niece Miss
Elian spent the day in Omaha with
friends goihg on the morning train.
II. S. Meisin&cr and wife, of Cedur
Creeek went to Omaha on the morning
train today to look after business
matters.
Lee Sharp, the Omaha machinist,
spent Sunday with his family in
this city returning to the metropolis
this morning.
II. II. Wcideman. of Greenwood,
came to the county seat this morning
to renew his duties as a juror for the
Febr. term.
J. C. Lemon of Greenwood, returned
to Plattsmouth this morning and will
take up his accustomed place on the
jury this week.

Nims accompanied by her guest

passenger to Omaha on the morning
train today, where she looked after

Bruce Rosencianz of the real
estate firm of Rosencranz & Son.
went to Omaha on business on the
early train this-morning to look after
a business deal.
Elmer Leyda, the Fall City attorney
is in the city trying the case for his
brother, J. M. Leyda, in which he
has been sued by II. R. Gcring for
damages.
Mr. T. J. Colbert of Ashland,
arrived Friday to spend a few days
with his brother-in-law Peter Bates,
and will return to his farm home
Tuesday. '

ing train today, via Omaha where
they will take the Rock Island for
their destination.
John Schippieassec went to Omaha
this morning to investigate a car of
wrecked banannas, with a view of
having some that he can sell right.
County Commissioner L. D. SwitJ
zer, of Weeping Water, arrived today
and met with the board in the tras-
action of business for the county.
R. D. McKensey, special agent
for the National Fire Insurance Com
pany a called on George Sayles in
the interests of his company, today.
J. W. Holmes, the handsome Murray
merchant and his brother Troy, of
Chicago will be the guests of their
nephew Glen Rawls for a few days.
Leander G. Barnes, one of the
News force, retired from the office on
sick' leave. The physican diagnosed
the case as measles.

William Bintncr and wife, of Carrol
Iowa, who have been the guests of

Adam Frederich and Miss Annie
Frederich and John Yolk of Pierce,
arrived in the city Monday for a

Kansas City for a few days invoicing
stock for the Burlington, returned
this morning having completed his
work in good shape.
Senator Thomas, departed for Minco
Oklahoma, where he will visit with
friends for a couple of days, before
continuing his journey homeward to
Long Beach, California.
Mrs. Dr. Campbell, of Columbus,
and her little son, departed for their
home this morning, having been guests
of Mrs. Campbell's 6ister, Mrs. J. W.
Larkin for a few days.
E. L. Goodbar, of the Goodbar
Shoe Mfg. Co. makers of the American
Beauty shoes, called on Sherwood
and Son this morning with his line
of Goods. . Mr. Goodbar is from St
Louis.
Miss Mary Lynch, the accomplished
and ur to-date trimmer who was
with M. Fangcr last season, has been
re-engaged for this season and will
arrive in Plattsmouth today. This
is good news for the ladies.

rado, who has been visiting her cousin

Miss Beeson in the county judge's
office added another marriage license
to her register this afternoon, just
before going to press. The interested
parties being, Miss Adah Mast, daugh
ter of Abel Mast, of Nehawka, and
Mr. Edward Murray, of Weeping
Water, son of L. 0. W. Murray,
formerly of Mynard. This wedding
will take place today, and a more
extensive account' of the rffair will
appear in tomorrow's News.

sperous farmer, was in the city today

Miss Johnson Entertains.
Last evening Miss Ida Johnson
entertained a number of young
people, guests of the Nystrom- John
son wedding, in honor of Miss Esther
oren of Stromsburg, Nebraska.
The entertainment was a general
social affair and all joined in making
it one of the most enjoyable evenings
soc'al affa'r and all joined -n mak ng
it one of the most enjoyable evcirngs
of the season.
Among the many games played
was the "Quakr Meeting" in which
all the guests took an active part
especially the minister, who made a
great impression on his audience
ikewise were the people impressed

his part to perfection. The musical
program was another feature greatly
enjoyed and which displayed the
talent of the musicians. The hostess
then led the way to the tastfully
decorated dining-room where a light
uncheon was Ecrved. Over the center
uing a spangled basket from which
ribbons w ere suspended and small
souvcriers fastened to the ends and
oadinir to each plate. After lunch
music and conversation was indulged
in afterwhich all bid good-night
mving spent a very pleasant evening.
