Judge Carlin of South Dakota will ar
rive in the city Tuesday afternoon,
and court will be held in two rooms

Seven men filed petition in the fed
eral clerk's otlice at Omaha yesterday
morning, praying; tho bene fits of the
bankrupt law. These are: David
Littlejohn, Hanover, Gape county;
Henry C. Stoil, Beatrice; Johh Fitz
gibbon, Wilbcr; Thomas J. Woods,
Ihatricc; Ferdinand Lau, Norfolk;
John Rogers and Charies II. Hins
dale, Tekamah. The first three claim
large obligations and absolute poverty.
Among tho new enterprises about to
build at South Omaha in a big sulphur
ic acid factory. The packing house
bye products aro surprisingly large
and every year a new one is pushed
forward. Several of the packing
houses have regular chemical labra
tories and turn ou' quite a lot of drugs,
pepsin in its many forms lxing the
chief one. An enormous cooper shop

now nearing completion.
