County Troaourer C. P. Lloyd, in
pursuance with his eiders from the
county commissioners, has begun the
sale of citv and village property for
the delinquent taxes. The county will
sell tho property to tho best advan

"The World AuiiiHt Her."
i4Tho World Against Her," as given
by Agues va!lace Villa and tier sup
porting players, Is a distinct success.
The sensational element of the play is
good and keeps tho interest of the
audience throughout. Tho company
is most competent, and the members
are thoroughly up in their parts.
Miss Villa, in the principal roie, that
of Madge Carlton, who has the bulk
of tho work to do, was largely respon

ception, are extremely well pluyed.
There are many beautiful specialties
in this box ollico winner, which are
extremely well done, and tho comedy
parts are in the hands of artists. At

Oranges From California.
Los Angelks, Cal., Feb. 10.
Ninety carloads of oranges are leaving
southern California every day for the
east. As 3(10 boxes of (JU oranges nil
fill each ear, the shipments represent
nearly 5,500,000 oranges every twenty-
four house. Shipments are particularly
heavy' from tho new district of Ked
lands. where the Oiange groves are
just coming into full bearing. Though
frosts injured many oranges on low
lands, most of the groves in Riverside,
San Bernardino and Los Angles coun
ties escaped with trifling loss.

Charlev Gilbert, of this place, was
called to the telephone here Tuesday,
says the Weeping; Water Republican,

articulation was perfect and appar
ently as plain as it would have been in
a conversation with Omaha. The cost
of this five minute conversation to the
Kalamazoo man was $6. SO.
