While our sales have been good this spring, our collections have been very bad. Money has been hard to get hold of and the time has come when we must have it. Our stock is in good shape, but we intend to "trade dollars," as it were, by giving you Clothing, during July, at cost, or below for CASH AND CASH ONLY We cannot afford to sell Clothing at such prices and charge it on the book. Therefore, when you come, come with the CASH. This sale not only includes our Childrens, Boys' and Men's Clothing, but our entire line of Furnishing Goods. The republican state c nvenliou has been called to meet at Lincoln on the 2Gth day of August. This is rather early, but the date was placed early in order that, according to the new election law, the emblem most suitable for use on the ticket could be cbos-'n. The eagle is the republican emblem in most states where the blanket ticket is used, while .the rooster does duty as a democratic emblem. The convention which Qrst meets has choice of emblems and the stale cen tral committeo did not w.mt the "demmys" to steal our eagle. Tho apportionment is based on the vole CHSt for McKinley, and will mike a convention of J)l!o delegates. This will give Cass county as many, if not more, delegates than last year. Word reaches us from a reliable democratic source that a great scheme is to bo worked on the populists at their primaries in this county next Friday. The plan is to have one or two democrats in each ward and pre cinct join the populist party and get on as delegates to the populist county convention. When they get to Weep ing Water the mask will be thrown oIT, and those delegates will try to control the convention and shape its policy in fusing with the democrats, in support of democratic nominees. It is a fine plan, and if the populists al low themselves to be duped in this wa, they deserve to bo sold out and cease to exist as a political factor. If democratic principles and democratic candidates are so perfectly satisfac tory, what is the use of having a pop convention, anyway V Nebraska is under obligations to the populists for some goods laws engrafted upon our statute books, but unless there is a change in the trend of things soon, there will be t.o populist party in ex istence in this state much longer.
