Is Decreasing In Value. J. V. Egenborger has puschased the Ed Oliver farm southwest of town, consisting of 240 acres, at $45 per acre This is the lowest price paid for land so close to town in years, and poos to prove what The News has claimed about the greart shrinkage in land values in tnis county, 'ihere never was any reason why farm land here should sell for $50 or $60 per acre, as with no sort of cultivation could it earn fair interest on such values A Husking Match Wants Ten Thousand. The time that the peti- olTered to put ud $20 against the same tion alleges the accident occurred was amount of Air. Berryman's money, that he could beat him in a match of four hours husking. It is said that Berry man refused this offer but offered to wager $50 on eight hours work. Ihere was no match made at the time but we should like to see these gentle men" try a friendly husking match for, say six hours. This would be splitting the difference and looks to us to be fair. This motion carried ana Shedd was declared unanimously elected. In a short speech he thanked the boys for the honor conferred upou him, and expressed his confidence that with the co-operation of all the players, next year Nebraska would un doubtedly have a pennant winning team. The petition further states that the plaintiff fell on his back and bruised his spine and dioidered his liver. The accident caused him to de sist from work for three weeks and it is for this and the worry he has had since the accident that he probably asks the citizens to dive down into their pockets and shake these "pros perous" times and hand over to him, because the sidewalk committee did not put his sidewalk in good condition and a rail on each side Nebraska City News.
