We are informed by credible authori ty that on the 17ih day of October, ISSo, this county was buried in four or live inches of snow, and the air today feels a little bit that way. John IJamsey came in from Glen dale last evening', hale and hearty as in the olden time when we plowed corn on an adjoining farm and enjoyed the free and easy life of a farmer. Dr. Schildknect was called in cou BJltation at Itave Yost's, out southwest of town, Thursday, and ::lso at Ben Dill's, near Murray. Mr. Yost's sick folks were reported much better to day. The boys are ( quipped with enough facts and figures to con vince anyone whose head is not fuller of prejudice than it is of , sense, that there is only o:ic way to insure prosperity for the next f-ur years and that is, to vote for McKinley. Ona of the county papers refers l6 a meeting in the west end of the county to bo addressed by Bryan Clark, if ! that 1 cfers to our fcllowtuwiit-roan we should like to know when he became a namesake of the poppyeratie nomi nee for president. If that's the way. Colonel Clark spells his name out in the county, he must irive the boys down this way an c.; a nation with out delay. General Churchill was in the city Saturday evening meeting old friends and making new acquaintances. He will address the people of this city next Thursday- evening. Gust Uoman has a boy up at his houso who arrived last Thursday The mention is a little slow, but the boy is all right and may yet be "the noblest Uoman of them all." Iletry F. Kropp and Miss Lena Case of Nehawka and Weeping Water, re spectively, and Lewis E. Lau and Miss Martha E. Brunko of Elmwood took out permits to wed today. The many friends in this city of P. C.
