A resolution by Spies was read, calling for the paving of Sixth street hetween Vine and Pearl. On motion the resolution was adopted. A committee was instructed to as certain whether the property own ers wished the street paved wilh lrick or macadamized, and the city attorney was instructed to draw up an ordinance to that eliVcf. Mrs. Ihirtoti asked the council to take some action to keep the water from overflowing her properly on Holdrege street. The petition was referred to Ihe comiuilli on j streets, alleys ond bridges. Mrs. M. Carroll also stated in a petition P the cot ncil that they would have to take some action to keep water from overflowing her property, as it was impossible for her to raise any tardea, riti-1 that the clay had covered her ground so that it was unfit for cultivation.
