The lieail was crushed into an un
recognisable mass. The skull was
crushed 'as it it were a piece of
rhinaware. while the brain, the
little that remained, was (hinliMK
from the skull. The face was badly
bruised and covered with blood
rendering the scene sickening in
the extreme. Evidences tnat the
cur-wheel had paused partly over
the abdomen were discernable. As
soon as practicable, Ccioner Unruh
cured for the corpse and rendered
it in ns presentable condition as
possible.
The accident happened a few
minutes before 7 lust evening. The
unfortunate man was attempting
to couple a flat to u box car. The
flat car was loaded with heavy
timbers, which projected over the
end of the car and the presumption
at first was, though that view has
been disproved by the coroners

the event that the council should
release Mr. Petersen.
Reports of police judge and
marshal wers read and referred to
police committee.
Treasurers report was read and
referred to finance committee.
The report of the finance com
mittee recommended that the fol

The deceased is a young man,
unmarried, and has been living
with his parents iu Plattsmouth
the greater portion of the past five
years. Until recently he has been
employed upon the street works ol
the city. About four months since,
he went to Lincoln, where lie com
menced switching, but as there was
an opening for him in that work
here, he began work in the riatts
moutn yards Oct. 13. He has al-
wuya been considered a quiet,
honest, upright young man,
and his untimely end will
be deplored by his large
circle ot friends. The shock is
apeclally hard for hia aged mother,
at this time ia lying at the the
point of death.
The funeral will take place at the
realdence of Mr. Monroe's, parent in
Shaffervile. at 11 a. m. ta-morrow.

The claims committee made the

over $5 of balance of claim to the
I school fund. On motion of Gutsche
the report was adopted.
On mot ion of Jones of the Second
ward the committee on streets al
leys and bridges was instructed to

On motion of Miner the marshal
was instructed to serve notices on
! all parties authorized by previous
resolutions to build sidewalks, to
comply with istructions, and that

Mr. Larson moved that the
services of J. Denson be dispensed
with. On motion of Gutsche the

Mr. Gutsche offered the following
resolution:
