The IlEKALO has made a special effort to ascertain the exact hour at which the advertising train will reach this city. We are informed by a special telephone message just received from Omaha that everything is in readiness and the train will leave Omaha at 4 p. m., arriving here at 4:30 or probably a few moments later. We are reliably informed that the train as regards decoratioHs and general equipment is a model of beauty and ingenious art rarely ex celled and on the whole it presents an anriearance fullv in kepnlnir - - - j 1 1- with the resources and capa bilities of our state. Tne Cass county exhibit will be fourid in the last car of the train. and all should make a special effort to view that portion af the display. as in many respects Cass county's display surpasses that of any other county participating in the enter prise. Samuel Waugh and II. N. Dovev will accompany the train from this place. The former goes as the Cass count3' delegate. The selection is a good one, Mr. Waucrh beinir well I versed regarding the needs of Cass county, her resources and etc., and he can impart this information to the wonder striker easterners in a creditable and convincing manner. Mr. Dovey goes as a representative ot the .suite Business Mens As sociation. Grow SujapBee'i. Sugar beets of collossal propor tions were exhibited at the Cass county fair this fall, and a promi nent germ an. farmer testifies that the soil here is better adaoted to A. their growth that of Germany where tney grow profusely. In view of this our farmers are certainlv af forded an excellent opportunity of engaging in a profitable industry. Nebraska City is excited over the mysterious disappearance of an old resident by the name of Datiou. He is about seventy years old. six feet j tall, has gray moustache and beard. Republican clubs are being formed in different sections of the state and they are having a telling effect upon the moulding of public opinion in their respective localities. Grand Island hotel men have been badly taken in by an oily- tongued swindler who worked an advertising fake on them. It is usually the case when home enter prises are neglected. A large delegation of the Masonic lodge of this city leaves to-day for Ltuon to participate inthe burial of James . Chalfant. Sr. The de ceased has been a member of the order for many years and is held in high esteem Ivy the mem bers. It appears pretty conclii.i- (hut the democrats and independents will succeed iu drawing a good crowd here to-morrow. It is to be regretted, however, that the speak ing in each case has been arranged tor the same hour, thus disappoint ing some who may desire to hear the issues discussed from ' both standpoints. .
