After touring through Australia she will retite from the stage. Mr. John A. Davies, a prominent young lawy: r of this city, was thrown in an embrrassing position yesterday while out driving with a lady friend. As they were about to pass over a crossing on Fifth street, the reach of the buirgy broke loose from the front part, coming in contact with the ground. As he was not aware of the accident just then, the Iioise was allowed, to walk along uuin tcrruptcd nntil the piece struck the side walk holding the hind wheels back while the two front were pulled out of place and the body of the buggy dropped between. Wabash Warriors Were Weeping Water Workers Until Wooley's Wrangle Waved Their Wishes. The following correspondence took place between the mayors of Weeping Water and Wabash: i ExKCtTivK Mansion, WKKI'INU Watkk, Nekkahka, ( . XOVEMIIEH 7THm ltfNS. Hon. MikkCavKV, M'iVor of Wubash. M'lle Rhea. Seldom lias ihe t-legant Euclid Avenue Opera House contained as large or as brilliant an audience as last eyening. The best society of Cleveland, wealth, fashion and intelligence i;ll considered, was so liberally represented as to tax to the utmost the capacity of the spacious theatre. We may also add that the Opera House never contained a more thoroughly charmed audience. M'lle Khca appeared in her favoiite character. Adrienne. a personal beauty, in superb costuming, in dramatic fire she even sur passed the ideal personation of the char acter. Her triumph in Cleveland is com plete. She came a stranger, almost uii heralded, Hhe was received coldly and critically. She will leave a prime f ivor itc. She came, she wa step, ahe con quered. It is not w ithin our recollection il.ufc another actress ever in so short a time won such enthusiastic admiration in over-particular and exacting Cleveland We take pleasure in saying that she has expressed a desire to acknowledge the appreciation of this city by returning here as s on as hot ergements permit; this season if possible If her preference could yvern, she suys she would re main another week. She will make her farewell (for the present) appearance this evening as Beatrice in Shakespeare's "Much Ado About Nothing." Cleve land Herald. This world renowned actress, supported by an excellent company, will appear in "Much Ado About Nothing," at Water man's opera house on Thursday evening, 15th. Dickinson, president of the young hicl's republican club of W a- hoo, has extended auothcr iuyitatiou to the young men's republican club here, through 3Ir. W. G. Reefer. Wahoo has K1 done nobly during the whole cam paign and sent large delegations to every rally which ii was possible to reach the same night. At their rally a short time ago Plitttsmouth was not icptCnented at all, after a pressing invitation had been sent to the club lure, and they had yood reason to feel slighted as they did. They have aijj invited Plattsmouth to pur ticipate in a grand julj ideation to be held in their town tonight (Tuesday eyening) Will the club of this city accept it, ..nd put forth one grand effort to redeem themselves i Waucp is certainly de serving of the recognition as they have done good work for this city in several instances and to flight them now would be to secure their ill-will forever, Let some influential polili. ian make a move in tltc right direction, secure transporta tion and then secure a crowd. A host of republican cifizina and boys turned out last night, armed vjiih tin horns, cow bells, aud a hundred var ious weapon of defense to do honor to the c ming president, Harrison, The city was kept in an uproar until a late hour. After a large crowd had formed and .uiarched around the streets for some time, the Lay were allowed the privi lage of setting fire to piles of boxes and barrels which they had piled in the streets for the occasion. Tho jollifica tion was held after very short notice and a larger crowd would have par ticipated had sufficient notice been civen. Among the illuininatioMii we noticed the residences of the following gentlemen as the most attractive: Messrs George Poisell, O. M. Btreight. II. J. Streighr, Judge Chapman, W, 11. Ptfr kins, J. O.
