Yesterday afternoon and evening all who were at the depot were agaiu sur prised to notice the river rising rapidly. At 0 p. m. the bars opposite the depot were entirely submerged and trees and drift-wood were sailing by. It is only a week since the Piatt rose so suddenly on account of rains in the western part of the state. Tllis time the rise was occa sioned by heavy rains north of Sioux City, which occurred last Thursday. At noon to day the river marked nine feet above low water mark and seemed to be stationary.
