WHEKKAS, a joint resolution was adopted by
the Legislature of the State of Nebiaska, at
the Eighteenth Session thereof, and approv
ed February 27th, A. i. 1883, proposing an
Amendment to Section Four (4), of Article
Three (S of the Constitution of eaid State,
and that said section as amended shall read
as follows, to-wit :
" Section 4. The term of office of members
or the Legislature euall be two years, and they
snau eacn receive a salary oi tnree nunareu
dollars for their services during eaid term, and
ten cents for every mile they shall tiavel in
going a i.d returning from the place of ireetiug
of the legislature, on the most usual route.
Frori'lcd, however, that neither members ot the
legislature nor employees shall receive any
pay or perquisites other than their salary and

February 28th, a. d. 1383, proposing an amend
ment to Section One (1) of Article Five (5) of
the constitution of said State, and that said

Amendment shall be submitted shall be In the

Constitution, entitled 'Executive Depart
ment.' " "Against proposed Amendment to

tion, entitled. Executive Department.' "
Therefore. I, James W.Dawes, Governor of
tbe State of Nebraska, do hereby give notice,
in accordance with Section One (1) Article Fif
teen (16) of the Constitution, and tne provisions
of an act entitled, "An Act to provide the man
ner of proposing Amendments to tha Constitu
tion and submitting the same to tbe Electors
of this State," approved February 13th. a. r.
18T7 that said proposed Amendments will be
submitted to the qualified voters of this State
for ratification or rejection at the General
Election to he held on the 4th day of Novem
ber, . D. 1884-
