An Appeal for Blaine.
Philadelphia, Pa., July 13. The in
dependent republicans of Pennsylvania

ent republicans aud by the entire mem
bership of the independent state re
publican committee. It contends that
the real fight of the independents waa
to overcome machine rule; to bring
about conventions of really representa
tive men, that the recent convention
represented the masses, and that not to
support Blaine now would be a blow at
the very principles that tha independ
ents fought for.
A CALL FOR A NATIONAL CONVENTION.

not to vote for lilaiue and Logan, to

ABOUT THE SIZE OF IT
London, July 14. The Timed this
morning suys: The platform concocted
by the republican and democratic con

popular prejudices of modern dema
gogues. CIGAR MAKER'S 6TRIKE.
