publishes an interview with united
States District Attorney Corkhill, in re
ward to the investigation now being
made by that officer, with fraudulent
oner at ions bv pension attorneys. Ihe

district attorney says that a large num
ber of aflorneys have been engaged in
fraudulent practices, and he has re
ceived hundreds of letters since the
publication cf his communications to
the secretary, containing specilic. com
plaints of attempted frauds on the part
of firms in the pension business in this
city. He estimated that soldiers and
their relatives have beew JeJraiult d out
of a million dollars through the fraud
ulent practices of these attorneys, and
expresses his intention ot bringing the
matter to the attention of the grand
jury. Col. Corkhill renews his request
that all soldiers, or others having tod
ies of descriptive ciiculars from
agents in this city, or kuowledge of
fraudulent transactions on their part,
that they will mail him full informa
tion on the subject, in order that he
may bring the guilty parties to justice

THE KLU KLUX GANG.
Atlanta, Oct, 27. In Banks county,
in the klu-klux cases, eight persons
were found guiity on every indictment
and will be sentenced Monday. Judge
McCoy, in his charge, was very severe
in his condemnation of the so called
klu-klux crimes. He said it is strange
that men should so far forget their
manhood, their egd an 1 the las of
the country, as to permit Ujuiusplyps

trator of the estate of Mrs. Abigail
Armstrong vs Warren K. Blodgctt.
This was a bill in equity, in which the
administrator seeks to recover money,
stocks, bonds and other securities, all of
the value of upwards of $350,000, al
leged to be retained by the defendant
to his own use while actiug sis ngeut
for Mrs. Armstrong during the last ten
years of her life, from 1S72 to 1SS2.
The case was tried on the issueramed
for the jury, involving the questions of
sanity and undue influence, and cre
att d much interest The jury returntd
a, verdict for the plaintiff on fifteen out
of the sixteen of the exhibits, and ia
substantially in his favor with interest.
Blodgett is indebted to the estate for
about half a million.
