Indian troubles seem to be oo the iu

Peter CoorEit's estate is valued at

Ot'K people may expect a rare treat
this evening from the Xow Orleans
Jubilee singers. IMattsinouth has
had no 6tich entertainment thU year
as this will be; lovers of good dinging
and jolly laughing bhould turn out
and upeud a couple ot pleasant hours
this evening with the Grand Army
boys.
Tjie dynamite fellows get a black
rye at home. The socialists, in Con
gress assembled at Copenhagen, voted
against approving the proceedings of
the Nihilists in Russia and the Fenians
in England. It is only men like Herr
Most who approve such proceedings,
and they do it as much from love of
notoriety as anything else. Inter

A jikalek by the name of Dr. Monck
is amusing &uh entertaining the citizens
of New York City and JJrooklyn. He
pretend. to healthy faith, any and all
manner of diseases. One beauty of his
treatment is, he don't require the patient
to liave auy laitu. The Dr. c;ys he fur
nishes enough of that article himself.
DEMOCRATIC FOREBODINGS.
'Tli n oarlnnonooa et iYia ait ti'i t Inti
which confronts the Democracy begins
to dawn upon some of the party organs
Four weeks of discussion has shown
how wide and bitter is the difference
which exists In the organization on
the tariff question. The .St. Louis He
publican says: "The situation in the
Democratic party is peculiar. It may
even be called critical. There are no
perceptible preparations for the strug
gle, still more than a year distant. The
party iu in a condition of repose, and
adverse to the consideration of the
claims of candidates and of issues
And yet, there is at least one issue
which the party knows it must face
before the end of the present year
That issue is found iu the person of
ex-speaker Randall." The tariff-for
revenue 'democrats evidently propose
to make the speakership contest a te8t
light, and they recognize the serious
ness of the job they have undertaken
If Mr. Randall succeeds in splitting
the democratic party he will achieve
an unenviable fame. Inter Ocean.
The .St. Louis Republican is the or
gan of democracy in the southwest,
and can see a very large mountain in
the way of complete barmonyand
evenness In the pathway of the great
party of the outs.

so the defendants in the star route

the introduction of evidence was con

breath. Immediately thereupon the
defendants introduced a witness in re

everybody rested. We apprehend the
government counsel will not occupy
many days in putting in their rebut

rest.
An important cse to the citizens of
