At an early hour last evening Mrs Simpson s music rooms were filled to their utmost capacity by an apprecia tive audience of parents and friends of her pupils who assembled to note the advancement of her muslo scholars Many came and went away, unable to get seats. i rompuy at o clock the exer cises began with beginners in music. and the crowded auditors were held as if spell bound to the close with seme good pieces from some of her more ad vanced students, all doing remarkabl) well. The evidence of Mrs. Simpson's skill as a teacher of voice culture.and of the organ and piano increased from the be ginning to the close of the exercises, euch'pupil excelling the preceding only because more lessons had been taken. Her manner of presiding at piano or organ, and of reassuring au embar rassed performer, are simply incom parable, and we bespeak for her an Increase of patronage and encourage ment in ner noble endeavors to ad vance her each aud every scholar. Her work has been done so quietly that but few have ever heard of it, yet we feel proud to say that few cities of equal number of Inhabitants can offer such a rare chance to gain a musical educatiou as we enjoy right here at home every day, and many go away from home at large expense and with out obtaining the facilities Mrs, Simp son offers.
