County Treasurer;
A Pleasant Anniversary at Murray
Merrily rang tiie marriage be Is if
not the marriage bells the merry voices
of the many friends and neighbors of
Mr. and Mrs. . Loughridge, who had
gathered at their home last Saturday af
ternoon to celebrate their twentieth wed
ding anniversary. The plan which was
gotten up by theiadiosof Murray and
vicinity was a success and effectually
surprised Mr. and Mrs. Loughridge, re
minding them of early days, the rapid
flight of time and the high esteem in
which they are held by their friends and
neighbors and will be to them one of
the bright spots on the sombre pages of
life. About fifty were present and did
justice to the bountiful supper prepared
by friends for the occasion.
Wm. Loughridge was married Septem
ber 28th, 1870, to Agnes Miller. Two
boys were born of this union and are
living today to gladden the home.
They came to Murray about six years
ago and by industry and economy they
have made a beautiful home, and by in
tegrity and courtesy many friends who
not only congratulate them on this anni
versary but wish them many more to
follow. The beautiful china tea s t,
which was carefully selected, and n-
sented by their numerous friends, tou th
er with other pieces of china, will t
them a happy remembrance of this i.
anniversary, and the beautiful lam:. -
sented to them at this time will bi ..'
them pleasant memories of ihe

ltev. liaira omciatea last eveninsr in
his usual impressive manner at the pleas
antest wedding of the year, wherein Mr.
Milton .N . Griffith was united with the
holy ties that bind, to Miss Laura Ship-
rnan, the accomplished and highly re
spected daughter of Dr. Shipman of this
city, at the family residence of the Doct
or on West Locust street.
The groom is one of Plattsmouth's
j best and steadiest young men, is a first
class job printer, being the foreman of
Tiie Herald job rooms at the present
time; and unlike many printers, he has
no bad habits.
The bride looked yery pretty in a
neatly made cream Henrietta, with a
beautiful corsage boquet of light blush
roses, while the groom was not unpre
possessing in conventional black.
Over eighty guests, comprising some
of our best people, with many from
abroad, were present, end enjoyed the
festivities, especially the wedding supper,
which was a delicious repast, well
befitting so happy an occasion. Lew
Moore was there with his delightful bou
quets of fragrant roses, in fact a wedding
without Mr. Moore would b an anamoly
indeed. A wealth of silver, china and
glassware for the table with numerous
articles useful nd ornament d were pre-
sented,to the bride at the hands of many
friends. The groom has already fitted
out and furnished a cozy home in the
northern part of the city, to which place
they adjourned after the evening's gaie
ties and where they will at once enter
upon the prosaic duties of house-keep
ing.
Tiik IIekald force from the proprie
tor down to the devil extend their
heartiest congratulations and earnest
best wishes for future happiness and
prosperity.
J. C. Peterson returned this morninf
from Sioux City where he has been in
att'ndance at the corn palace. Mr.
Peterson says if Plaltsmouth people
knew what it was to be seen at the corn
palace many would be in attendance?
Th.i palace is far better than last year,
and 's indeed a marvel.
In District court one case was filed to
day: XV. II. Martin vs. Wm. Gilmore,
suit for 500 damages.
